Following a collective collaboration at Arabian Travel Market 2017, Destination Zanzibar returns to 2018 edition through stronger alliances with Zanzibar Commission for Tourism and Tanzania Tourist Board. The collaboration is in response to the rise in luxury tourism, currently dominating the destination. Known for their world-class travels featuring Africa’s best Safari, wildlife conservations, national parks, fascinating culture, beach experiences, historical sites many of which remain unexplored, the market is fast tracking to become East Africa’s next luxury holiday spot. Unique in its touristic attractions with combined beach and safari expeditions, the destination has plenty to offer across this new segment in travel.

Members of luxury properties and operators from both mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar will join the delegation from tourism boards. “Recent survey indicates major growth within Luxury tourism; this is now dominating our destination as visitors’ demand for innovative experiences continue. Changing trends will require more bespoke services and as a number of properties and operators shifts towards specialized luxury tours exclusivity of unique excursions will be paramount. At ATM, we hope to attract and engage partners from the Middle East and beyond seeking wildlife experiences that go beyond the typical safari holidays. As a destination we have all the capabilities to provide to escalating holiday needs and look forward to building bridge with regional partners” said Geofrey Meena, Marketing manager, Tanzania Tourism Board.

“Tourism in Zanzibar has undergone a major change in the last twelve months as travellers’ needs for unique holidays moved beyond opulence of five-star resorts. The sector is adapting and expanding to meet requirements for unique yet authentic luxury experiences. Operators are pressured to curate itineraries to deliver individual expectations and this new wave has given rise to personalized excursions that imprint lasting and unforgettable impression. At ATM we plan to focus on luxury sector and connect with partners seeking exclusive preferences“ said Ms Hafsa Mbamba, Managing Director, Destination Zanzibar.

Entrenched by unforgettable panoramic scenes of National Parks, Serengeti plains, forest of Mahale Mountains, Ngorongoro Crater, the magnificent Kilimanjaro and exotic & multi-cultural Zanzibar, Tanzania is undoubtedly becoming one of the must visit luxury holiday destinations in the world. Visitors embarking to the land of Tanzanite will enjoy an authentic journey to the wilderness of Tanzania, witness illuminating majestic sunrise, be enthralled by cultures of red-cloaked Masai warriors and the warm hospitality of its Swahili people.
