Tourism Malaysia announces six month long promotion campaign to tap Indian market

Comprehending the potential of Indian tourist market, Tourism Malaysia is set to tap it with an aggressive six-month long marketing and promotion campaigns from January to June 2018.
The campaign, a joint promotion effort with Akquasun Group, a destination marketing company based in India, commences from this month and includes a comprehensive promotion in major cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. The Tourism Malaysia promotion will also reach Tier-I cities including Bangalore, Lucknow, Surat, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Pune, Hyderabad, Mysore, Cochin and Coimbatore, and Tier-II cities such as Chandigarh, Rajkot and Ahmednagar.
The aggressive promotion will be implemented through a strategic combination of print and online advertising, trade networking roadshows to tap top travel agents, participation in consumer and trade tourism fairs, workshops and product briefings on Malaysia, familiarisation trips, and other joint promotions and incentives.
Marking the beginning of the campaign is Tourism Malaysia’s participation in the India International Travel & Tourism Exhibition (IITT) from January 11-13 where Malaysia is represented by around ten organisations namely, Desaru Coast, Legoland, Fantasy Rain Forest, Marina Putrajaya, Lexis Hotels & Resorts Sdn. Bhd., Ombak Villa Langkawi, Forest City Phoenix Hotel, and Malindo Air dan Tourism Selangor that include tourism product owners, hotels and representatives from various tourism organisations.
Subsequently, Tourism Malaysia will continue with a trade networking roadshow in Kolkata on January 15; New Delhi on January 16; Ahmedabad on January 17, and in Chennai scheduled on January 18.
