UP Tourism  to revive ancient temples to boost religious tourism

The prime focus of the tourism department is to develop Uttar Pradesh as a tourism hub, for this purpose they are focusing on developing heritage and religious sites.


The renovation work at the Mandabir Baba temple in Alambagh (Lucknow) is already finished. The next temple on priority list is the Lokeshwar Mahadev Mandir in Alambagh, which was constructed in the year 1941. The archaeology, culture and tourism departments in the state are preparing a list of all ancient temples in the region, which are in dire need of renovation, especially those which have been in existence since or before the year 1857.
