PATA elects its Executive Committee and Office Bearers for the term 2017 19

Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) India Chapter held its 47th Annual General Meeting on December 19, 2017 at The Claridges, New Delhi where it announced its Executive Committee and Office Bearers for the term 2017-19. Rashmi Verma, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, will lead PATA India Chapter as its Chairperson. SanJeet, Director, DDP Publications, has been re-elected as the association’s Vice Chairman along with the other Office bearers. J.S. Taneja, MD, Travel Spirit International, has been elected as the Hon. Secretary, and Vikram Madhok, MD, Abercrombie & Kent, has been elected as the Hon. Treasurer. Runeep Sangha will continue as Executive Director, PATA India Chapter.
The association also elected its Executive Committee for the term 2017-19:

  • Active Government Category - Rashmi Verma and Suman Billa, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India will hold the post.
  • Associate Government Category - Ravneet Kaur, CMD, ITDC and Sanjiv Garg, Additional Member T&C, Ministry of Railways
  • International Carrier category - Pankaj Srivastava, Director-Commercial, Air India.
  • Domestic Carrier category - Ragini Chopra, VP, Jet Airways and M.P. Mall, CMD, IRCTC has been elected.
  • For Travel Agents/Tour Operators category - Vikram Madhok, J.S. Taneja, Sunirmol Ghosh, Anoop Kanuga
  • Hotels/ Associate Hotels category - Renu Basu, VP, Indian Hotels, Arjun Sharma, MD, Select Holiday Resorts, Rohit Arora, GM, Apeejay Surendra Park Hotel.
  • SanJeet will be an EC member under the Sustaining Member category.

Rashmi Verma headed the 47th Annual General Meeting of PATA and appreciated the role association was playing and recognised its business development initiatives. She felt that in the years ahead PATA should work more closely with the Ministry to promote tourism and bring greater value to its members.
