Zoom Air started its daily scheduled operations from today, February 15 on Delhi-Kolkata-Durgapur-Delhi route. This was extended till Amritsar in the afternoon. The airline received the schedule operating permit from the DGCA on February 3. It had launched its first flight from Delhi to Durgapur on February 12.
Zoom Air is India’s newest full-service airline and Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju had flagged off the inaugural flight on Sunday. The airline is the country’s 10th scheduled carrier for the domestic sector.
The passenger airline has started its operations in Indian capital cities like Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi, but their main concentration is in areas which are less catered to by other airlines. The other airlines in India are Air India, Jet Airways, Air India Express, Vistara, Jetlite, Spicejet, Indigo, GoAir and Air Asia India.
