In a strategic move to cater to the growing number of Dutch travellers visiting Taiwan, the Taiwan Tourism Administration officially opened a new service center in Amsterdam on May 15, 2025. This marks the second tourism office launched in Europe by the current Taiwanese administration, following the establishment of its Paris office last year. According to Taiwan’s Tourism Administration, Dutch visitor numbers have surged by 14% in Q1 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, underlining the Netherlands as a fast-growing tourism market for the island.
Tourism Administration director-general Chou Yung-hui highlighted Amsterdam’s significance as a key European cultural and transportation hub, stating that the new center will enhance Taiwan’s visibility, strengthen brand positioning in Europe, and foster deeper engagement with local consumers, media, and businesses. Chou also emphasized the important role of airlines such as China Airlines, EVA Air, and KLM, which provide direct flights between the two countries and are instrumental in driving this upward travel trend.
