South African Tourism has launched its flagship corporate engagement initiative, Corporate Think Tank, with the first event held in Hyderabad, bringing together over 25 key participants for dialogue and collaboration. The four-city series is designed to strengthen partnerships with India’s corporate sector, showcasing South Africa’s potential as a leading hub for business events, MICE, and leisure travel.
Hyderabad has been identified as a strategic focus market due to its thriving IT, pharma, and healthcare sectors and its growing outbound travel demand. The event, led by Deepika Nair, Acting Trade Manager, South African Tourism, highlighted South Africa’s positioning as a preferred MICE destination, supported by upcoming direct flights from India and streamlined visa processes such as approvals within five working days and the Trusted Tour Operators Scheme.
Gcobani Mancotywa, Regional General Manager for Asia, Australia, and Middle East, South African Tourism, said, “The Corporate Think Tank plays a pivotal role in understanding the evolving requirements of Indian businesses and simplifying their incentive travel planning. Hyderabad’s corporate sector holds immense potential in driving MICE growth, and we are excited about the opportunities ahead.”
With India’s corporate spending on overseas events projected to grow rapidly, supported by strong outbound travel demand, expanding infrastructure, and global connectivity, South Africa is positioning itself as a natural partner for India’s MICE segment. Known for its iconic safaris, over 3,000 adventure activities, scenic road trips, and world-class venues, South Africa offers cost-effective and memorable experiences that make it a top choice for Indian corporates planning incentive and business travel.
