IndiGo to Launch Daily Direct Flights from Thiruvananthapuram to Malé from October 26, Boosting India–Maldives Connectivity

IndiGo has announced the launch of daily direct flights between Thiruvananthapuram and Malé, Maldives, starting October 26, 2025, making the Kerala capital the fourth Indian city after Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kochi to enjoy non-stop connectivity to the island nation. The airline will deploy ATR aircraft on the route, offering an affordable and convenient short-haul international option for both leisure and business travellers. Flight 6E 1129 will depart Thiruvananthapuram at 12:00 and arrive in Malé at 13:15, while the return service, 6E 1130, will leave Malé at 14:05 and reach Thiruvananthapuram at 16:20, ensuring seamless travel schedules. Commenting on the new service, Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo’s Head of Sales, said, “With this new route, IndiGo will operate 28 weekly flights to the Maldives from four Indian cities, strengthening bilateral ties and boosting tourism.” The expansion enhances access to the recently upgraded Velana International Airport in Malé and is expected to further support growing trade, investment and tourism exchanges between India and the Maldives, with India continuing to remain one of the Maldives’ largest tourist source markets.
