Madhya Pradesh Tourism has added another prestigious honour to its name, winning the Gold Award in the ‘Best Nature & Wildlife Conservation’ category at the Outlook Traveller Awards 2025. The ceremony, held recently in New Delhi, celebrated excellence across India’s travel, destinations, conservation, and sustainability sectors.
Representing Madhya Pradesh Tourism, IFS officer Rakhi Nanda received the award on behalf of the state — a proud moment for the “Tiger State of India”, which continues to be recognised nationally and globally for its consistent wildlife conservation efforts.
The award particularly reflects the success of Satpura National Park, one of India’s most well-managed wildlife habitats known for its scientific conservation practices, low-impact tourism model, and community-inclusive protection efforts. Satpura’s unique landscape of sandstone peaks, deep gorges, dense forests, and rich biodiversity has made it a model for sustainable wildlife tourism.
Over the years, Madhya Pradesh has implemented several initiatives, including:
Strengthening anti-poaching mechanisms
Community-based conservation involving local tribes
Habitat improvement and scientific monitoring
Promoting responsible tourism with controlled visitor impact
These efforts have contributed significantly to species revival, including tigers, Indian bison, and rare flora and fauna found in the Satpura ranges.
With this Gold recognition, MP Tourism once again positions itself at the forefront of India’s conservation leadership, reinforcing its commitment to balance tourism development with ecological responsibility.
