Akasa Air Marks Delivery of 31st Aircraft, Reinforcing its Rapid Growth Trajectory

India’s fastest-growing airline, Akasa Air, has taken delivery of its 31st Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 aircraft, marking another major milestone in the carrier’s expansion journey. The new aircraft, bearing registration number VT-YBH, arrived at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru on December 10, 2025.

This latest induction underscores Akasa Air’s remarkable growth since launching in August 2022 and highlights its commitment to enhancing passenger comfort and operational excellence. The aircraft is one of the first built entirely to Akasa’s custom specifications, featuring Safran Z200 seats—a next-generation seating solution offering a 4-inch recline, ergonomically contoured backrest, and enhanced cushioning for superior comfort. Passengers will also benefit from dual USB-C and USB-A ports, addressing the needs of modern, connected travellers.

Emphasizing both comfort and sustainability, Akasa’s new seating integrates lightweight, durable materials to reduce environmental impact while optimizing passenger experience.

Commenting on the milestone, Vinay Dube, Founder and CEO, Akasa Air, said, “Every addition to our fleet reflects our commitment to creating a comfortable, modern, and authentically warm flying experience. The 31st aircraft, designed to our specifications, is another step toward building a truly world-class airline that listens to and reflects the needs of Indian travellers.”

With 31 aircraft now operational, Akasa Air continues to expand methodically, supported by a robust pipeline of 195 aircraft deliveries over the next seven years. The airline’s landmark order of 226 Boeing 737 MAX jets underscores its confidence in India’s booming aviation sector and its long-term vision to redefine domestic air travel with innovation, reliability, and passenger-first design.
