
Austrian Airlines has announced a significant expansion of its summer 2026 schedule, adding 490 additional flights to popular leisure destinations across Greece, Italy and Spain, responding to strong demand for Mediterranean travel.
The airline’s summer 2026 schedule (March 29–October 24, 2026) will feature 133 destinations worldwide, up from 127 in 2025, including 113 short- and medium-haul and 20 long-haul routes, all operated directly from Vienna.
Greece sees the largest boost, with 148 additional flights across 21 destinations. Crete leads the expansion with up to 19 weekly flights (Heraklion and Chania), followed by Rhodes, Corfu and Kos. Austrian Airlines is also reintroducing Mytilini (Lesbos) after a long hiatus, while maintaining services to Santorini, Zakynthos, Lefkada, Kalamata and Lemnos.
Italy gains 222 additional flights, covering 12 destinations, with increased frequencies to Rome, Florence and Lamezia Terme. Sardinia remains a strong focus, with up to 10 weekly flights to Olbia and Cagliari.
In Spain, the airline adds 120 more flights, expanding services to 11 destinations. Bilbao and Alicante join the summer network for the first time, while capacity increases are planned for Barcelona and Valencia.
For travellers seeking cooler climates, Austrian Airlines will continue operating summer services to Reykjavik, Bergen, Edinburgh, Tromsø and the Lofoten Islands, citing rising demand for Nordic destinations
