MLA Farooq Shah highlighted the importance of tourism as a key pillar of Jammu & Kashmir’s economic stability and growth during the inauguration of the ATOAI convention in the region.
He underlined that Jammu & Kashmir’s natural beauty, cultural heritage and diverse experiences have long made it a global attraction, and initiatives such as national-level conventions help restore confidence among travellers and the travel trade. Shah noted that collaboration between government departments, local stakeholders and industry associations is essential to ensure smooth operations and positive visitor experiences.
He added that structured tourism development and responsible practices will help sustain livelihoods while reinforcing Kashmir’s position as a dependable and welcoming destination.
