Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has marked a significant milestone in its international expansion with the launch of Taj Paro Resort & Spa in Bhutan, further reinforcing its long-standing association with CG Hospitality Global, part of the CG Corp Global group.
Located in the serene Paro valley and set against the dramatic Himalayan backdrop near the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, the newly opened resort brings the Taj brand’s signature luxury to one of the world’s most spiritually rich destinations. The property features 45 thoughtfully designed rooms, offering panoramic mountain views and interiors inspired by Bhutan’s tranquil ethos and cultural heritage.
The resort offers a curated range of dining and wellness experiences. Guests can unwind at The Paro Lounge and Bar, which showcases signature cocktails alongside select Bhutanese wines, or dine at Vista, the all-day restaurant serving a blend of regional flavours and international cuisine. Wellness facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, a fully equipped fitness centre, and the J Wellness Circle, which offers holistic therapies rooted in traditional healing philosophies.
Speaking on the occasion, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL, said the opening aligns with the company’s strategy of deepening its presence across the Indian subcontinent. He noted that Bhutan’s timeless appeal and growing global interest make it a natural fit for the Taj brand, while also highlighting the strength of IHCL’s partnership with CG Hospitality Global, which spans over two decades.
Dr. Binod Chaudhary, Chairman of CG Corp Global, described the launch as a reflection of the mutual trust shared between CG Hospitality and IHCL. He emphasised that the collaboration, which has evolved over more than 25 years, continues to be guided by IHCL’s legacy and its standing as a benchmark in Indian hospitality worldwide.
Echoing similar sentiments, Rahul Chaudhary, Managing Director and CEO of CG Hospitality Global, said the arrival of Taj in Paro is expected to enhance Bhutan’s positioning as a premium global tourism destination, combining world-class hospitality with the country’s distinctive cultural identity.
The partnership between IHCL and CG Hospitality Global spans an extensive international portfolio, including luxury resorts and hotels in the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Dubai, and wildlife lodges under Taj Safaris in India and Nepal. The opening of Taj Paro Resort & Spa adds another dimension to this collaboration, strengthening IHCL’s footprint in the Himalayan region.
