South African Tourism has successfully completed the Bengaluru leg of its Annual India Roadshow, following the opening event in Mumbai, as part of its ongoing engagement with the Indian travel trade.
Led by Mitalee Karmarkar, Marketing and Communications Manager (MEISEA), the roadshow serves as a platform to strengthen collaboration with Indian travel partners across leisure, corporate, and MICE segments.
The Bengaluru event featured over 40 exhibitors and saw participation from more than 235 Indian travel trade agents. The multi-city roadshow will next travel to Ahmedabad on February 10, 2026.
India continues to be a key source market for South Africa, with Bengaluru emerging as one of the country’s important outbound cities, particularly for premium leisure, wildlife, and experiential travel. The roadshow focuses on expanding destination awareness, encouraging new itineraries, and supporting trade-led growth.
South African Tourism is targeting a return to pre-Covid Indian visitor volumes in 2026 and continues to strengthen partnerships with Indian travel trade stakeholders. The country is also preparing to host the 2027 ODI World Cup, which is expected to further boost inbound tourism.
