Thailand’s visa-free entry policy for Indian travellers, allowing stays of up to 60 days, is beginning to gain traction in the market, with travel agents reporting improved conversions and rising interest across key outbound segments.
The policy, introduced earlier this year, allows Indian passport holders to enter Thailand without a visa for tourism and short-term visits, eliminating the need for visa-on-arrival procedures and associated costs.
Travel trade stakeholders note that while awareness is growing in metro cities, a significant section of travellers—particularly from Tier II and III markets—remains unaware of the updated entry norms, presenting an immediate opportunity for agents to drive bookings.
“With no visa requirement and longer stay flexibility, Thailand has become one of the easiest international destinations to sell,” industry participants indicated, adding that the policy is encouraging last-minute bookings and faster decision-making among travellers.
The move is also expected to support airline load factors on India–Thailand routes and boost demand for popular destinations such as Phuket, Krabi, and Bangkok.
Trade experts highlight that the visa-free regime reduces booking friction and strengthens Thailand’s competitive position against other short-haul destinations that still require visa processing.
The policy remains in effect and continues to serve as a key driver for outbound travel demand from India.
