Sri Lanka Tourism to host B2B roadshow in three India cities

The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) and Sri Lanka Convention Bureau are set to host a B2B Roadshow and Networking evening in Indore, Vadodara, and Surat on June 10th, 12th, and 14th, 2024. This initiative aims to promote Sri Lanka as a year-round destination for all segments of tourists, targeting an increase in visitors from Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat by showcasing the country’s diverse tourism offerings.

The event will be spearheaded by Harin Fernando, Minister for Tourism, Lands, Sports, and Youth Affairs, with the delegation led by Krishantha Fernando, General Manager of Sri Lanka Convention Bureau. Over 40 stakeholders from Sri Lanka’s tourism sector, including Destination Management Companies (Leisure and MICE), leading hotels and resorts, homestays, tour operators, and other service providers, will participate. These industry stakeholders will engage in B2B interactions with their Indian counterparts in each city.

The series of B2B Roadshows will serve as a platform to present Sri Lanka’s tourism vision, new tagline, and future development plans. It will also provide an opportunity for local delegates to interact with key influencers, corporates, MICE agents, trade associations, and other service providers.

Sri Lanka Tourism has set an ambitious target of attracting 2.5 million tourists in 2024. To achieve this, Sri Lanka has launched an innovative “You’ll Come Back for More” 360-degree global marketing campaign. The campaign has made a significant impact by promoting Sri Lanka’s attractions at leading international platforms such as the Arabian Travel Mart in Dubai. Additionally, roadshows were held in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne in Australia, as well as in Turkey, to underscore the importance of the global travel industry.

This strategic effort reflects Sri Lanka’s commitment to positioning itself as a premier tourist destination and expanding its reach within key markets in India. The upcoming roadshows in Indore, Vadodara, and Surat are expected to strengthen ties between the tourism industries of both countries and drive a significant increase in tourist arrivals from India.
