PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) extended its wholehearted support to the 2024 Union Budget presented by Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman.
The budget underscores the pivotal role of tourism in bolstering India’s cultural heritage and economic growth, with a strategic vision to elevate India’s status as a leading global tourist destination. The initiatives announced in the budget reflect a comprehensive approach to develop and promote India’s rich historical and spiritual heritage. The emphasis on the spiritual significance of the Vishnupath temple in Gaya and the Mahabodhi temple in Bodhgaya, inspired by the successful Kashi Vishwanath corridor project, is a testament to the government’s commitment to enhance the visitor experience and highlight the spiritual depth of these locations.

Simpler tax regime for foreign cruise companies for operating domestic cruise vessels in India will promote cruise tourism.”
In alignment with the Union Budget’s emphasis on spiritual tourism, PHDCCI has announced the 1st Global Spiritual Tourism Conclave with the theme mantic on August 23, 2024, in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. This conclave will serve as a distinguished platform for key stakeholders to come together to identify opportunities, challenges and best practices in promoting sustainable and inclusive spiritual tourism. As India continues to harness its rich cultural and spiritual heritage, the initiatives and strategies outlined in the Union Budget 2024 will play a crucial role in transforming key cultural and historical sites into internationally renowned destinations, driving economic growth and job creation in the tourism sector.
