Visit Hungary strengthens ties with Indian travel industry through successful networking event in New Delhi

Visit Hungary, the international brand of the Hungarian National Tourism Authority, hosted a successful networking evening in New Delhi, aiming to enhance its ties with India’s travel trade. Held at the Embassy of Hungary, the event attracted 70 prominent guests from across the luxury, leisure, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sectors.

István Szabó, Ambassador of Hungary to India, addressed the gathering, emphasizing Hungary’s appeal as a premier destination for Indian travelers. The evening opened with a welcome address by Lubaina Sheerazi, CEO and co-founder of BRANDit, setting the tone for an engaging session of networking and knowledge-sharing.

Ivan Ljubinkovic, Regional Head of Business Development-India for Visit Hungary, provided a comprehensive overview of Hungary’s diverse offerings for Indian travelers. He highlighted Hungary’s growing potential across various sectors, including leisure travel, destination weddings, and MICE tourism. Ljubinkovic emphasized the country’s readiness to cater to the growing and varied demands of the Indian market.

The event also featured presentations from key Hungarian partners, including Marriott International, Kempinski Hotels, Duna Cruises, Corinthia Hotels, Lotus Voyagers Group, MIKI Travel, Up Hotel Budapest, and Dúzsi Tamás Family Winery. Each showcased unique experiences available in Hungary, underscoring the country’s position as an emerging hotspot for Indian tourists.

The evening concluded with a networking dinner, allowing attendees to explore potential collaborations and discuss strategies for promoting Hungary as a leading destination.

In addition to the networking event, Visit Hungary’s delegation conducted a successful two-city sales mission in Mumbai and Delhi, engaging with travel agents, MICE operators, Delhi Airport Authority, Indian carriers, corporate entities, and OTAs (online travel agencies). These efforts further solidified the groundwork laid over the past year to boost Hungary’s visibility in India.

With Indian tourism to Hungary steadily rising, the event effectively positioned the country as a top choice for Indian travelers, particularly for visits to Budapest and other regions. Visit Hungary remains committed to offering tailored experiences that resonate with Indian tourists, focusing on wellness, gastronomy, and cultural immersion. Moving forward, the tourism authority aims to deepen its engagement with India’s travel and corporate sectors to tap into the growing outbound market.
