Diwali travel surge fuelled by falling airfares and festive spirit

This Diwali season, travellers are taking full advantage of a significant drop in airfares, sparked by a recent reduction in aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices. The timely decrease has led to a 20-25% reduction in domestic flight costs, providing a welcome relief for holidaymakers who had been facing soaring ticket prices – sometimes as much as two to three times higher than usual.

Nishant Pitti, CEO & Co-Founder of EaseMyTrip, shared, “We have observed a significant increase in bookings for the Diwali holidays, thanks to the sharp fall in ATF prices, which perfectly coincides with the festive season.”

Domestic hotspots like Rajasthan, Kerala, Ayodhya, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Jaipur are witnessing a surge in demand as travellers seek festive getaways. International destinations such as Azerbaijan, Georgia, Vietnam, Thailand, Dubai, and Egypt are also drawing large numbers of Indian tourists eager to explore new horizons during the holiday period.

The hospitality sector is ready to accommodate the rush, with hotels in these popular destinations offering special packages to ensure guests have an unforgettable festive experience. The combination of reduced airfare and enticing travel deals is making this Diwali season an ideal time for travel enthusiasts to embark on memorable vacations.
