Thailand Targets Record One Million UK Visitors in 2024 as High Season Approaches

Thailand is set to welcome one million visitors from the UK by the end of 2024, solidifying its position as a top destination for British travelers. From January to October 2024, 739,837 UK visitors arrived in Thailand, a number expected to surge with the upcoming high season from November 2024 to March 2025.

UK tourists, who stay on average 18.33 nights and spend around 68,488 Baht per person, are drawn to destinations like Bangkok, Surat Thani, Krabi, Phuket, and Chiang Mai. Travel motivations include leisure, family visits, sports tourism, and special celebrations, with 57.83% visiting for the first time and 42.17% as repeat visitors, predominantly traveling independently.

To meet rising demand, 552 direct flights from the UK to Thailand, offering a total of 174,864 seats, will operate throughout the high season, providing easier access to Thailand’s varied attractions and experiences.
