Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated MPT Hotel Amaltas, India’s first hotel entirely operated by women, in Pachmarhi. This landmark initiative, under the guidance of Tourism Minister Shri Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi, aims to empower women and set an example for other states.
The hotel is staffed by 23 trained local women handling roles such as management, housekeeping, reception, and culinary operations. Dr. Yadav praised the effort as a tribute to India’s women-centric cultural heritage, emphasizing the central role women play in society and mythology.
Dr. Yadav highlighted the state’s tourism growth, with a record 11 crore tourists visiting this year, and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiatives like wildlife conservation in Kuno National Park. He described Pachmarhi’s Satpura hills as offering Himalayan-like serenity, attracting domestic and international tourists with its blend of nature, wildlife, history, and heritage.
Tourism advancements were also announced by Shri Lodhi, including the upgrade of Hotel Neelamber Sky Line, now featuring luxury amenities like an infinity pool and panoramic viewing points. Principal Secretary Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla highlighted the Safe Tourism Destination Project, providing self-defense and skill training to over 50,000 women, furthering economic opportunities and safety in the tourism sector.
