The Indian Tourist Transporters Association (ITTA) held its Annual Convention at The Grand Hotel, Vasant Kunj, marking a significant moment for the tourism and transport industry. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Minister for Tourism and Culture, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who commended ITTA’s efforts in fostering growth and collaboration within the sector.
In his keynote address, Shri Shekhawat acknowledged the pivotal role of ITTA in shaping the industry’s trajectory. Highlighting the government’s commitment to resolving sectoral challenges, he announced plans for a dedicated meeting with banking institutions in 2025 to address issues such as financial access and loan support.
“The way tourism prospects, tourists, and congestion are increasing in our country, sustainability is going to be a challenge. We should start with mobility. I request you to encourage your car drivers to become flag bearers of sustainability,” he urged, emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices in the industry.
The convention’s opening session, led by Convention Chairman K.S. Sawhney and ITTA President Satish Sehrawat, set the tone for the two-day event. The proceedings began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by addresses from key dignitaries and industry leaders. A notable highlight was the release of an industry-focused manual, symbolizing ITTA’s commitment to innovation and excellence.

The convention brought together over 350 members of ITTA, including more than 200 operators from Delhi, all recognized by the Ministry of Tourism. The association reiterated its mission to advance the interests of the tourist transport sector nationwide.
As the convention concluded, Shri Shekhawat reaffirmed the government’s support for ITTA and the broader tourism sector, acknowledging its critical role in shaping India’s economic and cultural identity.
