Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker highlighted the carrier’s expansion plans in a press conference at ITB Berlin. Trabzon in Turkey, Lyon and Toulouse in France, Kinshasa in Congo RD, Juba in South Sudan, Medan in Indonesia and Chittagong in Bangladesh are the new destinations that Qatar Airways will be launching this year.
“We continue to expand and have already surpassed our capacities of 2019 while capacities around the world are still 30% below 2019 for all IATA airlines,” stated Akbar Al Baker.
Berlin, Dublin, Düsseldorf, Milan and Vienna will also enjoy increased frequencies.
The open-sky agreement between the European Union and Qatar explains the huge capacity development to France, including a resumption of flights to Nice- as well as higher frequencies across the EU.
