Rakesh Jhunjhunwala backed Aakash Airlines to start operation in summer of 2022

Good days of Indian Aviation looks brighter. Ist revival of grounded Jet Airways got clearance for revival, then Air India finally got a buyer and now new startup Akash Airlines backed by the big bull of share market Rakesh Jhunjhnwala has received the go-ahead from the government to start flight operations in India.

SNV Aviation private limited company got a No Objection Certificate from the Ministry of Civil Aviation. According to a statement company, the airline is going to apply to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for an Air Operators Permit (AOP), in all probabilities, the airlines will offer flights across India starting in the summer of 2022 with an endeavour to be the nation’s most dependable, affordable and greenest airline”.

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala is investing USD 35 Million, for a 40% stake in Akash Air. ( according to unconfirmed reports) The ultra-low-cost airline, started by former Jet Airways CEO and former Delta Airlines executive Vinay Dubey with his former colleagues Praveen Iyer and Nikhil Ved, is considering planes with a carrying capacity of 180 passengers.
