Wizz Air to resume service to Russia

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will resume flying to Russia from October this year. Services are shown on the main Wizz Air website.

Wizz started the route in December 2021 but stopped operations due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in late February this year. The airline announced the suspension of all Russian flights throughout the summer up to 30 October.

The airline has decided to remove the suspension earlier than planned. Wizz Air’s flight booking system is showing flights from Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) to Vnukovo International Airport (VKO), Moscow’s number three airport, starting from 3 October.

Michael Berlouis, Managing Director, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, told Gulf News: “Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is operating a network of 34 destinations within a five-hour flight time radius of Abu Dhabi, providing ultra-low fares to a variety of diverse destinations. We support the UAE’s travel and tourism industry by enhancing connectivity both regionally and globally, in line with national regulations and policies”.
