Accor Appoints Ranju Alex as CEO for South Asia to Drive Growth Across India

Accor has announced the appointment of Ranju Alex as Chief Executive Officer for South Asia, where she will oversee operations across India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The hospitality giant currently operates more than 70 hotels in the region and has a robust pipeline of over 30 upcoming properties, further strengthening its presence in South Asia’s fast-growing tourism and hospitality market.

A highly respected industry leader, Ranju Alex brings over three decades of experience to her new role. She began her career with The Oberoi Group in 1993 and later joined Marriott International, where she rose to hold several leadership positions, most recently serving as Regional Vice President for South Asia, managing a portfolio of more than 170 hotels. Her contributions to the hospitality industry have been widely recognized, and she was recently conferred with the Bharat Gaurav Award for her achievements.

The appointment comes at a strategic time when Accor and InterGlobe have announced plans to create a joint venture, consolidating their businesses into a single hospitality platform, subject to regulatory approvals. This move aims to position the group as a market leader in South Asia’s dynamic hospitality sector.

Welcoming Ranju Alex, Gaurav Bhushan, Chairman of the proposed Accor–InterGlobe JV, said: “We are extremely pleased and excited to welcome Ranju to the Accor and InterGlobe family. She brings a wealth of rich experience, skills, and relationships into our business, and we look forward to building the foremost hospitality platform in the region under her leadership.”

Sharing her excitement, Ranju Alex said: “I am delighted to join an organization with the most comprehensive and exciting portfolio of brands in the region. It will be an honour to lead the Group’s vision in this region, and I eagerly look forward to this exciting role.”
