Agoda Reveals Top Indian Cities with Highest Repeat Visitors in 2025 New Delhi, Chennai, Kochi Among Favorites

Digital travel platform Agoda has released its highly anticipated Repeat Visitor Ranking 2025, unveiling the Indian cities that travelers return to most frequently. According to booking data from the first half of the year, New Delhi and NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, and the rising cultural gem Kochi have emerged as the top five Indian destinations with the highest number of repeat visitors.

The data showcases a compelling shift in travel behavior—travelers are not only exploring new places but also revisiting familiar destinations, drawn by nostalgia, deeper cultural engagement, or the desire to discover more beyond their initial visit. Agoda’s insights reveal that many travelers are returning to the same destination multiple times within just six months, highlighting a strong sense of connection and satisfaction with these urban hotspots.

The top-ranked cities—New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Chennai—are not only bustling metropolises but also strategic gateways to nearby destinations. Their robust infrastructure, business connectivity, and easy access to tourist attractions make them ideal bases for both work and leisure travel. Delhi connects effortlessly to Agra and the Himalayan foothills, Bangalore offers easy access to Coorg and Chikmagalur, and Chennai serves as a hub for exploring Tamil Nadu’s temple towns and coastal heritage.

A standout in this year’s ranking is Kochi, which has rapidly gained popularity for its slow-paced, culturally immersive travel experience. No longer just a pitstop en route to Kerala’s famed backwaters, Kochi is now seen as a destination in its own right. With its colonial-era architecture, walkable historic districts, vibrant art scene, and events like the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, the city’s eclectic charm and evolving boutique hospitality offerings are drawing travelers back time and again.

Commenting on the trend, Gaurav Malik, Country Director for the Indian Subcontinent and Indian Ocean Islands at Agoda, stated, “Travelers are increasingly seeking deeper, more meaningful engagements with destinations, often returning to places that offer both familiarity and continued discovery. The rising interest in cities like Kochi and Chennai reflects a clear shift toward destinations that combine strong local character with enhanced connectivity and infrastructure.”

Globally, Agoda’s Repeat Visitor Ranking highlights Bangkok (Thailand), Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), Bali (Indonesia), and Osaka (Japan) as the top five Asian destinations with the highest number of returning travelers. The full list also features Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Da Nang, Johor Bahru, and Hong Kong, confirming that travelers across Asia continue to value cities that offer a compelling blend of culture, cuisine, comfort, and convenience.
