Air India Express has launched flights to Bangkok, marking its 50th destination and enhancing Surat’s international connectivity. The new route offers four weekly flights between Surat and Thailand’s capital, strengthening the airline’s Southeast Asia operations after its success in Singapore.
The inaugural Surat-Bangkok flight departed at 09:35 IST with 175 passengers, landing in Bangkok at 15:35 local time. The return flight departed at 16:35 local time, arriving in Surat at 19:35 IST.
Celebrations were held at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport and Surat International Airport, where officials from the Thai government, Indian Embassy, airport authorities, and travel trade community marked the milestone. A ceremonial boarding card was presented to the first passenger of the inaugural flight in Surat.
Air India Express will also launch Bangkok flights from three additional cities: Pune (tri-weekly from December 21), Amritsar (four weekly from December 27), and Lucknow (tri-weekly from December 28), further boosting connectivity to Thailand.
