Air India Express to Launch Services from Navi Mumbai International Airport from Day One

Air India Express is preparing a major operational push in Western India with the
announcement of new services from the upcoming Navi Mumbai International
Airport (NMIA), scheduled to begin commercial operations on 25 December 2025.
The airline will be among the first to start flights from the new airport, marking a
significant expansion in its Maharashtra network.
According to industry inputs, the carrier will operate daily flights to Bengaluru and
five weekly flights to Delhi from Day One. From 1 January 2026, both routes are
expected to double in frequency, offering twice-daily services in response to rising
demand across key metro corridors.
Air India Express’ leadership sees NMIA as an important addition to Mumbai’s
aviation ecosystem, enabling the airline to serve the growing passenger base across
Navi Mumbai and its adjoining regions. The new routes will also strengthen onward
connectivity through the airline’s expanding domestic and international network.
The airline has been steadily reinforcing its presence in Maharashtra, currently
operating more than 130 weekly flights from Mumbai and over 90 services from
Pune. Starting 1 December 2025, Air India Express will also connect Nagpur and
Bengaluru with twice-daily operations, further enhancing accessibility within the
state.

The expansion aligns with the carrier’s larger growth strategy, which includes new
domestic routes from Bengaluru, international additions to destinations such as
Bangkok, Jeddah, Kuwait, and Riyadh, and the rollout of its refreshed brand
campaign focusing on deeper cultural connect and upgraded cabin experience.
With NMIA opening fresh capacity in one of India’s busiest aviation markets, Air
India Express is positioning itself early to capture the growing traffic, offer improved
connectivity, and strengthen its presence across Western India.
