As the summer vacation season kicks off, Air India has introduced a thoughtful new initiative aimed at enhancing the airport experience for families. The airline has launched dedicated ‘Family Assistance’ counters at Delhi Airport, designed to provide comprehensive support to passengers travelling with children, elderly family members, or those requiring special assistance.
These counters serve as a one-stop solution for various passenger needs, including help with baggage handling, seat arrangements, and last-minute wheelchair assistance for those who may not have made such requests during booking. The initiative includes a personalised meet-and-assist service, ensuring that families receive prompt attention and are guided through essential airport procedures with ease.
Passengers can request support for changes in seating arrangements such as securing adjacent seats for family members subject to availability. The service also facilitates a streamlined check-in experience, reducing wait times while ensuring baggage is managed efficiently. Moreover, staff at the counters are equipped to assist with immigration and customs-related queries, making the pre-boarding process smoother for families.
Children travelling alone without having opted for the Unaccompanied Minor service, as well as passengers with reduced mobility, will also receive assistance from the check-in counter to their boarding gates, ensuring they are safely guided through all airport formalities.
With this family-focused initiative, Air India reaffirms its commitment to providing a seamless and stress-free airport experience for passengers travelling with loved ones, starting with Delhi and potentially expanding to more airports in the near future.
