Akasa Air Launches Daily Direct Flights from Mumbai to Phuket Starting 20 September 2025

Akasa Air has announced the launch of daily direct flights connecting Mumbai to Phuket, marking the airline’s entry into Southeast Asia and adding the tropical Thai island as its sixth international destination. Starting 20 September 2025, travellers can enjoy seamless connectivity between two major tourism and trade hubs, with bookings now open on Akasa Air’s website and major online travel agencies. Known for its pristine beaches, vibrant nightlife, and rich cultural heritage, Phuket has been a long-time favourite for Indian tourists, and this new route will enhance both tourism and bilateral trade ties between India and Thailand.

The airline will offer convenient morning and evening departures and arrivals in India, catering to leisure and business travellers seeking flexibility. Commenting on the expansion, Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, expressed excitement about the airline’s Southeast Asia foray, noting that the route will serve India’s growing base of “globally curious” flyers while strengthening cultural and economic connections. Neelu Khatri, Co-Founder and SVP International, highlighted that the move aligns with Akasa Air’s mission to make affordable global travel accessible for all.

With this strategic addition, Akasa Air is set to meet the surging demand for direct international travel from India, offering passengers a world-class flying experience and greater access to one of Asia’s most sought-after holiday destinations.
