Andaman Tourism Road Show 2025 Showcases Islands as Premier Destination for Domestic and International Travel Trade

The Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO) successfully hosted the 3rd edition of the Andaman Tourism Road Show on Saturday at Hotel Lemon Tree, Sri Vijaya Puram, with the aim of promoting the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as a leading tourism destination and strengthening connections between regional stakeholders and travel agents from across India and abroad.

The event was inaugurated by Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, Secretary (Tourism), A&N Administration, who attended as Chief Guest. In her address, she applauded AATO’s consistent efforts to promote responsible and sustainable tourism across the islands. She also engaged with delegates, encouraging greater synergy between the government and private sector to drive long-term tourism growth.

Dignitaries present included Mr. N. Vel Murugan, Assistant Director, India Tourism (Ministry of Tourism, Government of India); Mr. Vinayak Chamadiya, Director (Tourism); Mr. Chandrasekhar, President of ANCCI; Mr. Madan Lall, General Secretary of ANCCI; and Mr. Mohd. Jadwet, Chapter Chairman of IATO and Director of Makruzz. Speaking at the event, Mr. Jadwet urged attendees to offer honest feedback—both positive and critical—to help fine-tune the visitor experience and enhance tourism policy-making.

The road show drew participation from over 150 AATO members and 30 invited agents, including delegates from South Korea who are currently on a familiarisation (FAM) tour of the Andaman Islands to explore collaborative tourism opportunities. The presence of international delegates added a global dimension to the discussions, focusing on opening new markets for the island destination.

In his welcome speech, AATO President Mr. M. Vinod stressed the importance of such road shows in bridging the gap between the islands and the larger travel trade ecosystem. He highlighted the potential of the Andamans to emerge as a high-value tourism destination, thanks to its natural beauty, cultural richness, and ongoing infrastructure development.
