Arajet Expands to the U.S., Launches Flights to Miami and San Juan with Low-Cost Fares

Arajet, the Caribbean’s first low-fare airline, has officially launched its U.S. operations, offering affordable flights between the Dominican Republic (DR) and key American cities. The airline has begun ticket sales for direct flights from Miami (MIA) and San Juan (SJU) to Santo Domingo (SDQ) and Punta Cana (PUJ), further strengthening air connectivity between the U.S. and the Caribbean.

Arajet’s expansion aims to boost tourism while providing affordable travel options for American tourists and the 2.4 million-strong Dominican diaspora. The airline, which has served over 1.2 million passengers in 2024, will begin flights from Miami to Santo Domingo on April 11, 2025, from San Juan to Santo Domingo on June 4, 2025, and from Miami to Punta Cana on June 13, 2025. These routes will operate with multiple weekly frequencies, enhancing accessibility to over 20 destinations in the Caribbean, Central America, and South America, including Aruba, Bogotá, Medellín, Cancún, and Curaçao.

Governor González Colón of Puerto Rico highlighted the $10.4 million estimated economic impact of Arajet’s operations, adding 58,000 new seats to the market and strengthening air connectivity between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Arajet passengers can select from Smart, Comfort, and Extra fare options, enjoying benefits such as extra legroom, checked baggage, and priority boarding, along with Dominican-inspired onboard service.

With plans to launch the first direct flight between the DR and New York in 30 years by June 2025, Arajet continues its mission of making the Dominican Republic a leading travel hub in the Americas.
