At the India Tourism Mart, Ms. Yashwani B., Director & Addl. Secretary, Tourism Arunachal Pradesh, presented a sharp and future-ready tourism roadmap for the state. Highlighting Arunachal as the first place in India to receive sunlight, she noted that every district offers a distinct cultural and natural identity shaped by 23 major tribes and over 100 sub-tribes.
The state has now mapped 14 core tourism circuits and 24 additional circuits, aligned with specific traveller interests — from Tawang’s spiritual belt and Namdapha’s rainforest biodiversity to Mechuka’s fast-growing adventure hub.
Arunachal has structured its tourism assets into three verticals: Culture & Heritage, Nature & Adventure, and Festivals & Experiences, supported by signature events such as the Dree Festival, Ziro Music Festival and Orange Festival.
Connectivity upgrades like the Donyi Polo Airport (Itanagar) and expanded rail links are strengthening access, while the state now boasts 1,161 registered homestays delivering authentic local experiences.
The newly launched Tourism Policy 2025–30 focuses on sustainable, high-value tourism. A major announcement was the Sunrise Festival, debuting from 29 Dec 2025 to 2 Jan 2026 at Dong village — the first point in India to witness sunrise.
