ATOAI and Ministry of Tourism to host webinar on women’s safety in tourism

The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), supported by the Ministry of Tourism, is set to host an important webinar titled “Safe Journeys: Enhancing Women’s Safety in Tourism” on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The event, organized by the ATOAI Women’s Collective, aims to address critical issues related to the safety of female travelers and promote secure travel environments.

As women’s safety in tourism becomes a global priority, the webinar seeks to provide industry professionals with insights, strategies, and tools to create safer journeys for women across India and beyond. The session will feature a panel of distinguished speakers who are leaders in tourism and adventure travel, offering valuable perspectives and expertise.

Key Panelists:

Hannah Pearson, Regional Director APAC, Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA): With over a decade of experience in tourism startups and consulting in Southeast Asia, Pearson is a recognized authority in the region’s travel industry. She is known for her impactful reports and co-hosting The South East Asia Travel Show.

Dilshad Master Kumar, Director, Bull’s Adventures & Outward Bound India Himalaya: A media veteran turned adventure leader, Dilshad has led transformative high-altitude treks, including to Everest and Siachen. Her career of 23 years, combined with her work as a TEDx speaker, has made her a prominent advocate for resilience and women’s empowerment in adventure tourism.

Mohit Aggarwal, CEO, Asian Adventures: Known for his leadership in sustainable and conservation-driven travel, Mohit Aggarwal serves as vice-chair of the Asian Ecotourism Network and is a major contributor to responsible tourism in Asia. His work has revolutionized eco-tourism in the region.

The discussion will be moderated by Arshdeep Anand, Chairperson of the ATOAI Women’s Collective. Anand, a respected leader in adventure travel with 27 years of experience, is renowned for her work in sustainable tourism and as the founder of Holiday Moods Adventures. This enlightening panel discussion will provide actionable insights and spark meaningful conversations about women’s safety in the tourism industry.
