The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) has announced that its 17th Annual Convention will take place in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, from December 17–20, 2025. The convention is being organised in collaboration with the Government of Jammu & Kashmir and will focus on the theme “Indian Adventure Tourism: Safe, Sustainable & Resilient.”
The annual convention is expected to bring together adventure-tourism operators, policymakers, training bodies, and allied stakeholders from across the country. According to ATOAI, the decision to host the event in Kashmir reflects the region’s increasing engagement with organised tourism, improved access, and a renewed focus on community participation.
Across three days, the agenda will include keynote sessions, expert panels, workshops on safety and sustainability, and discussions on emerging adventure markets. An awards ceremony recognising sectoral achievements and an exposure visit to Pahalgam are also part of the programme, intended to highlight responsible tourism practices in fragile mountain ecosystems.
ATOAI President Ajeet Bajaj described the upcoming edition as an opportunity to examine the evolving safety matrix and India’s ambition to position itself as a globally credible adventure destination.
The organising committee comprises:
Paras Loomba – Convention Chairman
Rauf Tramboo – Convention Co-Chair
Yog Chinmoy Dutt – Convention Co-Chair
Arvind Bhardwaj – Convention Co-Chair
ATOAI has stated that the 2025 convention will follow a net-zero operational model, aligning with its sustainability commitments and the broader industry push toward low-impact tourism.
