Bomb Threat Forces Emergency Landing of IndiGo Jaipur-Mumbai Flight at Mumbai Airport; All Passengers Safe

An IndiGo flight from Jaipur to Mumbai triggered a full emergency landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on Monday evening after a bomb threat note was found onboard.

The aircraft landed safely at 8:50 PM, shortly after airport authorities declared a full emergency at 8:43 PM, following the discovery of a threat message inside one of the plane’s toilets during mid-flight. The flight crew immediately alerted air traffic control, and emergency protocols were swiftly activated.

“All passengers and crew members are safe. The flight landed without incident. Airport operations remained unaffected,” a CSMIA spokesperson confirmed. Security agencies are currently investigating the source of the threat.

This incident comes amid a rising number of hoax threats. As per Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, 24 bomb hoaxes were reported by airlines in India up to March 25, 2025, according to data from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).

CSMIA authorities continue to coordinate closely with IndiGo and security teams to ensure passenger safety and prevent future disruptions.
