The Government is reviewing its Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism strategy to strengthen India’s positioning as a global events destination, the Ministry of Tourism informed the House.
According to the Ministry, enhanced coordination with civil aviation authorities, state governments, and hospitality stakeholders is underway to improve convention infrastructure, air connectivity, and ease of doing business for international events.
The review includes assessment of large-scale convention centres, visa facilitation measures, and integrated destination marketing campaigns. Officials stated that India’s growing urban infrastructure and competitive hospitality sector provide strong fundamentals for attracting global conventions and corporate events.
The Ministry reiterated that sustained policy support and private sector participation will be critical to scaling up India’s share in the high-value MICE segment.
