Char Dham Yatra 2026 Registration Begins; Pilgrimage to Start from April 19

Online registration for the Char Dham Yatra 2026 has commenced, enabling devotees to register through the official tourism portal and mobile application of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board.

The annual pilgrimage covers four sacred Himalayan shrines in Uttarakhand—Kedarnath Temple, Badrinath Temple, Gangotri Temple and Yamunotri Temple.

Online registrations began on March 6, while offline registration counters will start operations from April 17 in Rishikesh, Haridwar and Dehradun to facilitate pilgrims.

The pilgrimage will commence on April 19, coinciding with the Hindu festival Akshaya Tritiya, when the portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri temples will open for devotees. Kedarnath Temple is scheduled to reopen on April 22, followed by Badrinath Temple on April 23.

Registration for the yatra is free of cost, and pilgrims can complete the process online by creating an account, entering personal details, selecting travel dates and temple destinations, and downloading the confirmation slip. Devotees are required to carry the confirmation along with a valid ID during the pilgrimage.

Authorities have made registration mandatory to ensure better crowd management, safety monitoring and smooth movement of pilgrims across the four shrines.
