
A world-class museum dedicated to the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is nearing completion in Delhi and is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The museum, located at the Institutional Area in Qutub Enclave, has been developed by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Memorial National Committee to bring the Maratha warrior king’s glorious history to life for a wider North Indian audience. The announcement was made during a press conference by the committee’s General Secretaries, Colonel Mohan Kaktikar (Retired) and Milind Patil, with Sanjay Dabke, Director of Guardian Media and Entertainment, also in attendance.
Construction of the museum began in 2020, following the vision of creating a modern, immersive historical space in the heart of the capital. The five-storied building, which was initially inaugurated by then President Pratibhatai Patil, will house the museum on its ground floor. It features state-of-the-art exhibits developed using advanced technology and historical documentation, ensuring authenticity and engagement.
Designed to transport visitors into the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the museum includes high-tech installations such as 3D visual storytelling, immersive environments, and a specially designed Dark Ride that showcases major milestones from the legendary ruler’s life. These innovative features aim to provide a captivating experience that combines education with cutting-edge digital interpretation of historical events.
With its unique blend of technology and heritage, the museum is poised to become a significant cultural landmark and the first of its kind in India, celebrating the valor and vision of one of the greatest figures in Indian history.
