
Clarks Exotica Convention Resort and Spa has announced the appointment of Ms. Debanjana Basak as its new Senior Human Resources & Training Manager, further strengthening its leadership team in line with its commitment to world-class hospitality. With over a decade of expertise in the hospitality sector, Debanjana brings a rich blend of operational, training, and human resources experience to her new role.
A graduate in Hospitality Management & Hotel Administration from IHM Bhubaneswar and a postgraduate from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Debanjana began her career in food and beverage operations, a foundation that sharpened her understanding of service excellence. Over the years, she has been associated with leading hospitality brands such as Hyatt Hotels, Specialty Restaurant, and Passcode Hospitality, where she honed her skills in both operations and global hospitality standards.
In 2021, Debanjana moved into academics as a Food & Beverage Faculty member at the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), Bengaluru, before transitioning into human resources and training with Sarovar Hotels. Her career progression from Assistant Training Manager to HR Manager at Sarovar was marked by impactful contributions in employee engagement, HR process improvements, and the implementation of comprehensive training programs.
At Clarks Exotica, she will be spearheading the resort’s HR strategy, focusing on innovative training programs, employee development, and fostering a culture rooted in collaboration, inclusivity, and respect. Her vision is to enhance employee growth opportunities while ensuring exceptional guest experiences, aligning closely with the resort’s ethos of delivering memorable stays. Beyond her professional pursuits, Debanjana’s interests in travel and painting bring creativity and perspective to her approach in training and development.
