Cygnett Hotels & Resorts to Open Ninth Property in Northeast with Cygnett Park Guwahati by July 2026

In a significant boost to hospitality infrastructure in Northeast India, Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, one of India’s leading and most preferred hospitality brands, has announced the signing of its ninth property in the region Cygnett Park Guwahati. The company has partnered with SRKS Hospitalities Private Limited to launch this premium midscale hotel, further strengthening its presence in the culturally rich and fast-emerging Northeastern corridor.

Scheduled to open in July 2026, the upcoming Cygnett Park Guwahati will be strategically located at the border of Guwahati and Meghalaya, offering seamless connectivity. It is just 45 minutes from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport and only 15 minutes from Guwahati city centre, making it ideal for both business and leisure travellers.

This expansion follows the recent signing of Cygnett Park Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh, underscoring the brand’s strong commitment to the Northeast. The new hotel is poised to cater to a wide spectrum of guests, from business travellers and vacationers to corporate event planners and destination wedding seekers, aligning with the Government of India’s efforts to promote tourism-led growth in the region.

Commenting on the development, Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder and Managing Director of Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, stated, “We were one of the first branded hospitality chains to enter Northeast India, and we’re progressing towards a 2000-key presence in the region by 2029. At the Rising Northeast Summit 2025, major Indian industries announced over ₹4.3 lakh crore in investments, accelerating economic growth that is directly benefiting the tourism and hospitality sectors.”

Designed to offer a blend of affordable luxury, wellness, and sustainability, Cygnett Park Guwahati will house 108 contemporary rooms and suites, a chic bar, and over 9,000 sq ft of banqueting and conference space. Guests can look forward to a holistic wellness experience with a spa, fitness centre, swimming pool, and recreational zones. Culinary experiences will include an all-day dining restaurant with al fresco seating, a rooftop speciality restaurant showcasing Northeast flavours, and a dedicated vegetarian dining outlet all part of the brand’s signature Cygnetture culinary excellence.

Guwahati, often hailed as the gateway to Northeast India, is known for its scenic riverfront along the Brahmaputra, proximity to Shillong and Kaziranga, and a blend of heritage, spirituality, and commerce. This new hotel will cater to the increasing footfall of domestic and international travellers exploring the region’s natural and cultural wealth.

As part of its ambitious goal to become a 100+ hotel group, Cygnett Hotels & Resorts is looking to open 12–15 properties annually across India, with Northeast India remaining a strategic focus. The group currently has eight properties in the region at various stages from operational to pre-opening and development reinforcing its role as a hospitality leader in India’s Northeast.
