CzechTourism is strengthening its presence in North India with a targeted outreach strategy across emerging Tier II markets, aiming to tap into the region’s growing demand for international travel.
Building on strong growth from India in 2025, the tourism board is expanding beyond metro cities, focusing on high-potential markets such as Chandigarh, Amritsar and Jalandhar to deepen trade partnerships and boost destination awareness.
As part of this initiative, CzechTourism hosted a trade workshop in Chandigarh, engaging over 30 travel agents and highlighting experiences beyond Prague, with a focus on creating more immersive itineraries for Indian travellers.
Highlighting the region’s potential, Hon. Major Guneet Chaudhary (Retd.), Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Chandigarh, said, “As outbound travel from North India continues to grow, there is clear potential to strengthen engagement across segments such as film tourism, MICE and destination weddings.”
CzechTourism also emphasised evolving travel preferences among Indian travellers, particularly the shift towards experience-led holidays.
“Our engagement in North India reflects a clear shift in how travellers are planning their European holidays today. There is increasing demand for experience-led travel, particularly around gastronomy, beer culture and wine regions, which align well with Czechia’s strengths,” said Barbara Andelová, International Marketing Manager – New Markets, CzechTourism.
With focused trade engagement and regional outreach, CzechTourism aims to position Czechia as a multi-experience European destination for Indian travellers.
