Domestic Demand Drives Stability in Tourist Transport Sector: Kanwarjit Singh Sawhney

The tourist transport sector in India is witnessing a notable shift toward domestic and corporate travel demand, which has remained resilient even amid recent global uncertainties, according to Kanwarjit Singh Sawhney, Chairman of the Transport Committee at ICC and Honorary Secretary of ITTA.

Sawhney highlighted that while international travel fluctuations and global economic challenges have impacted segments of the industry, domestic tourism and corporate mobility requirements continue to provide a stable foundation for transport operators.

He noted that rising operating costs and volatile energy prices have posed challenges for transporters. However, industry players are navigating these pressures through a strong focus on ethical business practices, operational discipline, and efficient fleet management.

“Honesty, dedication, and proper fleet management have become critical in sustaining operations during difficult times,” Sawhney emphasized.

The sector is also witnessing increased investment in luxury vehicle fleets, reflecting growing demand for premium travel experiences within India. High-end domestic tourism and corporate travel are driving this trend, signaling confidence in the sector’s long-term growth prospects.

Industry experts believe that with continued focus on quality service and adaptability, the tourist transport sector is well-positioned to sustain its momentum in the evolving travel landscape.
