Renowned tourism expert Dr. Valmiki Hari Kishan from Hyderabad has been appointed as the Chairman of the Tourism & Hospitality Committee (2025–26) by the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FAPCCI). The appointment was formally announced by FAPCCI President Satyanarayana at the Chamber’s headquarters in Visakhapatnam.
Dr. Valmiki, who currently serves as Advisor to the Tourism Committee at FTCCI Telangana, has an impressive record of leading the tourism sector with vision and commitment. He previously chaired the Telangana Tourism Committee for four consecutive years, during which he pioneered the Telangana Tourism Conclave — the state’s first-ever tourism roadshow, now carried forward by the Government.
Speaking on his new role, Dr. Valmiki expressed his gratitude and emphasized the importance of industry participation in shaping tourism policy. “There are immense opportunities for industry leaders to contribute their expertise and give back to the sector through platforms like FAPCCI. Unfortunately, very few come forward to take up such honorary roles,” he remarked.
Highlighting the Chamber’s legacy, Dr. Valmiki added, “FAPCCI, one of India’s oldest chambers with a 107-year history, has always been a strong voice for industries in Andhra Pradesh. It remains the most effective platform to address industry concerns — from tourism policy to infrastructure and investment support.”
He further shared his vision for the year ahead: “Andhra Pradesh has always held tourism in high regard, thanks to its visionary leadership. My focus will be on building a strong working committee, fostering collaboration with the Government, and enhancing skill development across the tourism and hospitality ecosystem. We aim to complement existing chambers and fuel ongoing projects, not duplicate efforts.”
Dr. Valmiki’s appointment is seen as a significant boost to Andhra Pradesh’s tourism ambitions, bringing together policy advocacy, private sector engagement, and long-term sustainable development under one collaborative framework.
