Dubai Partners with Amadeus to Drive Travel Tech Innovation and Enhance Tourism Infrastructure

Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amadeus, a global travel technology leader, to develop a city-wide travel innovation ecosystem. This partnership aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and aims to position Dubai as a global hub for travel technology and tourism innovation. The initiative builds on Dubai’s record-breaking 18.72 million international overnight visitors in 2022 and seeks to enhance travel experiences and operational efficiency.

The MoU was signed by Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), and Maher Koubaa, EVP Travel Unit & Managing Director, EMEA at Amadeus. As part of the collaboration, Amadeus will establish a Centre of Excellence in Dubai, focusing on biometric solutions, touchless payments, airport experience optimization, air capacity enhancement, and travel intelligence reporting. The centre will also support local and global travel start-ups, reinforcing Dubai’s commitment to technological innovation and economic diversification.

Kazim emphasized that Dubai’s business-friendly environment and world-class infrastructure make it a prime location for multinational investments. He stated that integrating Amadeus’ expertise will create new business opportunities and drive sustainable development. Koubaa highlighted that Amadeus will enhance personalized travel experiences while setting new industry standards, contributing to Dubai’s long-term economic growth through innovation.

This partnership strengthens Dubai’s position as a global travel innovation leader, ensuring a seamless, tech-driven visitor experience and supporting the tourism sector’s digital transformation. By leveraging Amadeus’ data-driven booking, distribution, and analytics solutions, Dubai is set to lead the future of smart tourism and digital travel ecosystems.
