
Etihad Airways has announced its highest-ever profit of $476 million (AED 1.7 billion) for 2024, driven by a 25% year-on-year revenue growth to $6.9 billion (AED 25.3 billion). The airline carried 18.5 million passengers, marking a 32% increase from the previous year, with an improved 87% passenger load factor. Passenger revenue surged to $5.7 billion (AED 20.8 billion), while cargo revenue grew 24% to $1.1 billion (AED 4.2 billion), supported by a 12% increase in cargo leg tonnes carried.
Expanding its global network, Etihad launched 20+ new destinations, including Boston, Jaipur, Bali, and Nairobi, and increased frequencies on 25 routes. The airline added 12 new aircraft, including six A320 NEOs and its fifth A380, maintaining the region’s youngest and most fuel-efficient fleet. Committed to sustainability, Etihad was named Environmental Airline of the Year 2024 by AirlineRatings.com for the third consecutive year.
Customer experience enhancements included a $817 million (AED 3 billion) cabin retrofit program, an AI-powered premium call center, and over 200 digital improvements. The Etihad Guest loyalty program reached 10 million members, reflecting strong customer engagement. Industry recognition included awards for Best Cabin Crew, Best Customer Experience, and Best First Class Lounge.
Etihad’s workforce expanded to 11,000 employees, with 2,000+ new hires and 1,500+ promotions. The airline strengthened its UAE National Talent program, with 70 Emirati cadet pilots graduating and UAE Nationals now making up 20% of the workforce. Looking ahead, Etihad plans further network expansion in 2025, reinforcing its position as a global aviation leader.
