FLY91 Leases Two Aircraft from TrueNoord to Strengthen Regional Network

Regional airline FLY91 has taken another step in its calibrated growth journey with the induction of two aircraft on long-term operating leases from global regional aircraft lessor TrueNoord. The move supports the airline’s strategy to deepen air connectivity across India’s Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

The first aircraft under this agreement entered service in December 2025, followed by the second delivery in January 2026, which is scheduled to commence operations in February. With this transaction, TrueNoord becomes FLY91’s second aircraft lessor, underscoring growing global confidence in the airline’s operating and governance framework.

Commenting on the development, Manoj Chacko, Managing Director & CEO, FLY91, said the partnership enables disciplined fleet expansion aligned with demand and long-term regional objectives. He noted that the addition of another leading international lessor reflects FLY91’s execution capability and operational robustness.

One of the newly inducted aircraft will be deployed from Goa, the airline’s home base, while the other will operate from Hyderabad, reinforcing FLY91’s dual-hub strategy and its focus on underserved regional routes.

Harsha Raghavan, Chairman of FLY91 and Managing Partner at Convergent Finance, highlighted that the collaboration allows the airline to scale responsibly while maintaining financial and operational discipline.

India’s regional aviation segment continues to gain traction, driven by rising demand from smaller cities and sustained policy support under the UDAN scheme. Anne-Bart Tieleman, CEO, TrueNoord, said the lessor is pleased to support FLY91’s expansion, noting that regional flying in India is becoming increasingly viable and commercially sustainable.

Sharing operational insights, Abhineet Awasthi, Commercial & Transaction Manager, TrueNoord, described FLY91 as an agile airline with a clear regional focus and a solution-oriented approach throughout the transaction process.

With the latest induction, FLY91’s fleet now stands at four aircraft. The airline currently connects nine destinations and plans to expand its network to 15 destinations by the first quarter of 2026, with two additional aircraft expected to join the fleet by the end of Q1 FY26.
