
Goa is gearing up to host the much-awaited Goa Carnaval 2026, one of the state’s most iconic cultural festivals, set to unfold across multiple locations from 13 to 17 February 2026. Organised by the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, the celebrations promise a vibrant showcase of colour, music, tradition and community spirit.
The festivities will begin with a Curtain Raiser on February 13 in Porvorim, with the parade route from IHM to ACDIL School. The celebrations will move to Panjim on February 14, where the main Carnaval parade will take place from New Patto Bridge to Campal Ground.
On February 15, Margao will host the celebrations with a parade from Holy Spirit Church to Margao Municipal Council Square. The following day, February 16, Vasco da Gama will witness the Carnaval parade moving from St. Andrew’s Junction (Swatantra Path) to Joshi Chowk/Railway Station.
The statewide celebrations will conclude on February 17 with festivities in Mapusa and Morjim. In Mapusa, the parade will proceed from the Comunidade building behind Milagres Church to the Comunidade ground near Dev Bodgeshwar Temple, while in Morjim, the route will be from Morjim Khind to Morjim Junction near Raj Super Market.
Speaking on the occasion, Tourism Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte said that Goa Carnaval represents joy, inclusivity and cultural pride, adding that spreading the celebrations across multiple locations will ensure greater community participation and provide visitors with an authentic Goan experience. He noted that Carnaval 2026 aligns with Goa’s vision of responsible and regenerative tourism.
Director of Tourism Shri Kedar Naik said the festival has been planned with a focus on wider reach, safety, cleanliness and overall quality, ensuring a well-managed and culturally rich experience for both residents and visitors.
Each venue will feature colourful float parades, music, dance performances and vibrant street celebrations, highlighting Goa’s cultural heritage beyond its beach tourism. The Department of Tourism stated that the event will emphasise responsible celebration, cleanliness, safety and community engagement.
Goa Tourism has invited residents, domestic travellers and international visitors to be part of the celebrations, with further details on parade timings and associated events to be announced shortly.
