Goa Tourism Hosts Vibrant Roadshow in Muscat to Woo Middle East Travellers

In a major step towards boosting its international outreach, Goa Tourism hosted a dynamic and high-impact roadshow in Muscat, Oman, showcasing the coastal state’s rich and diverse offerings to the Middle Eastern market. Held at the prestigious Crowne Plaza Muscat, the event drew top travel trade professionals, tour operators, media representatives, and potential investors, all eager to explore the evolving face of Goa.

Leading the delegation was Hon’ble Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte, who underlined Goa’s transformation from a beach paradise to a well-rounded, year-round destination. “Goa is evolving beyond its beaches to offer a diverse and enriching tourism experience — from the serene charm of our hinterlands and spiritual circuits to world-class infrastructure for MICE tourism,” he said. “Through this roadshow in Oman, we aim to strengthen ties with the Middle East market, inviting travellers and businesses alike to discover Goa’s vibrant culture, natural beauty, and growing potential as a holistic tourism destination.”

Also present at the roadshow were Kuldeep Arolkar, Managing Director of GTDC, and Kedar Naik, Director of Tourism, along with a robust delegation of stakeholders from Goa’s travel industry. This included members of the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG), led by its President Jack Sukhija, alongside representatives from charter companies, hotels, and travel agencies.

The event focused on promoting Goa’s regenerative tourism approach, eco-tourism circuits, and niche segments such as wellness, adventure, and cultural tourism. A highlight of the evening was a keynote address by Smt. Tavishi Bahl, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India in Muscat, who emphasized the growing tourism and cultural synergy between Goa and Oman.

The roadshow concluded with a lively ‘Goa Evening’, featuring traditional Goan folk performances, a detailed destination presentation, and an elegant networking dinner. The cultural showcase provided a vibrant glimpse into Goa’s artistic heritage and left guests with a lasting impression of the state’s warmth and hospitality.

Commenting on the significance of the event, Director Kedar Naik said, “Goa continues to position itself as a global tourism hub. We’re offering diverse experiences beyond our iconic beaches—blending culture, heritage, and nature. Through strategic international engagements like this, we are enhancing connectivity, building partnerships, and reinforcing our commitment to sustainable and regenerative tourism.”

The Muscat roadshow marks another milestone in Goa’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in key international markets, signaling its ambition to emerge as a top-tier global destination.
